We are so fortunate to have the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve so close to home! The Long Beach Unit of the park is located just north of Ucluelet. This gorgeous section of the park boasts kilometre after kilometre of untouched sand swept beaches.
You can hike through the ancient rainforest on one of the many interpretive trails, spend an afternoon relaxing on the beach, or take in a program at the Kwisitis Visitor Centre on Wickanninish Beach.Throughout the summer there are programs and activities available at the Park. They are free admission with your daily parks user fee.

Friday, July 20th
Touch Table: Jaws, Paws, & Claws: 1PM, Kwisitis Vistor Centre. Come touch and learn about skulls, scat, and other carnivore tidbits (If you dare!). This is an informal chance to ask your questions about our wildlife.
Rainforest Walk: 2PM at Schooner Trail (meet at the parking lot). Experience the sights, sounds, and scents of an old growth rainforest during a two-hour walk along Schooner Cove Trail.
Birds on the Move: 3PM at the Kwisitis Visitor Centre. The early bird gets the worm! Come and learn more about the many different feathered friends in the park.
Bombs, Backhoes, and Blooms: 8PM at the Green Point Theatre. Mix invasive plants with endangered plants and maybe grenades too, and you get the complex world that is the Wickaninnish Sand Dunes. There are signs that tell you to keep out of the area, so come to the show instead to see what’s going on.
Saturday, July 21st
Slugs: 1PM at the Kwisitis Visitor Centre. Great big slimy banana slugs - what’s not to love? This may or may not be a hands-on activity, your choice.
Guided Tour of the Kwisitis Visitor Centre: 2PM at the Kwisitis Visitor Centre on Wickaninnish Beach. A park guide will walk you through the upstairs and downstairs of the centre to let you in on some of the stories, secrets, sights and sounds you won't want to miss.
Pirates of the Intertidal: 8PM at the Green Point Theatre. Meet Captain Claw, a hermit crab not much bigger than your thumb. But beware; his intertidal world is full of thievery, deception & piracy!
Sunday, July 22nd
Flotsam and Jetsam: 1PM at the Kwisitis Visitor Centre. Interesting, unusual and destructive items wash up on the beaches all the time… come see some of the bizarre marine debris we have found here in the park.
West Coast Walkabout: 2PM, meeting at the Kwisitis Visitor Centre. Who knows where you'll end up and what you’ll see during this informal nature walk!
